I think that I have been avoiding writing this little paragraph relating to the ending chapters of Artgirlz as we have grown to know and love it! MANY people have worked LONG hours to help us get things in and out of the doors. We have traveled far and wide...met amazing talented, funny, smart, irreverent, hardworking folks always willing to share, support, advise...and to all of you I am very grateful.

It seems like I was always exhausted quickly moving from one event onto the preparations for the next...designing and producing products, catalogs, dealing with import issues, pricing, shipping, websites, email, customer service issues, photographs, blogs, class proposals, class prep, class teaching, clean up and shlepping of materials...setting up booths, cc machines, cash registers, products, give always, business cards, membership cards, bags, props, price tags, samples, snacks, pens, accounting, money in money out...packing up booths and organizing the shipping of the goods back to world headquarters...filling out the paper for each box leaving on the pallet...airplanes, taxis, hotels, convention centers, bad food, too many snacks, no exercise, no oxygen...
Trying to stay emotionally stable...hoping, wishing, expecting, not getting, getting, trying another way...

So now that the decision has been made to close the business, I have been organizing and counting product that is left...Al has been working on a proposal to keep Artgirlz Charms out in the world...time will tell on that one...so it seem like the next step is to put what we have on sale. What a perfect opportunity for the creatives of the world to add to their ever shifting pile of supplies!

Although we don't know exactly what we will be doing next, we will still be around doing our thing and keeping you posted right here! We will actually have "time" to do creative things...something that has been hard to come by!

Stay warm. Thanks for all of the support and love that we have received over the last 6 years!!!!
Stay Tuned!

Well, initially I was sad that you are going out of business....but then, I try to remember that as one door closes...another opens. You are both amazing!! All you have to do is walk through the door!!

I am so sorry to hear that you are closing your doors.......you gals are so original, wacky, eccentric and quirky! The crafting industry was a better place because you were a part of it. You'll be missed. Enjoy your time to create.....i know there is a price to pay for success.....and sometimes it's the lack of time to do what you truly love. Enjoy!

Peace, Love and Joy,

I met you a couple of years ago at the International Quilt Festival in Chicago. Your booth was next to my friend Julie McCullough from Magic Threads dolls. Meeting you gave me the courage to dye my hair purple (at age 60) and I want to thank you for that since I am known as the "Purple Lady" and wear everything purple. Sometimes we affect people's lives without even knowing. Enjoy your new-found free time to do whatever you have been dreaming about and enjoy this wonderful day that the Good Lord has given us to be creative. Blessings, Sue

You better keep a blog out here and update us on your journeys! I'm glad you will be able to live life more now. I know it was draining. And I'm praying for a *charmed* miracle and we get to continue to have those little artsy gems. xoxo

I completely understand your decision - the life on the road for the various craft shows in unforgiving and unrelenting. Perfect recipe for zapping the creative energy out of just about anyone.

I enjoyed working with you in the past, and wish the most brilliant of futures.

I'll definitely miss Artgirlz. You were always my first stop at Quilt Festival in Chicago. But I don't think most of us realized how much work, effort, stress, etc go into keeping a business alive. Who knows, maybe this year you can go to Quilt Festival just to enjoy it!
Best wishes!

Of course I understand, now more than ever. Much love to all. I know the next page of your lives will be just as art-full and beautiful as the last.

I truly understand, I really do, life is so very short, that we all must grab it & run with the moment or moments.

You two have always "colored the world with colors" that are vibrant, lush & joyous.

Oh pretty please always have a blog as I would so miss the wonderful lovely lush colors of the "Artgirlz"

Hugs from a far in New Mexico

Dang! Well, now we just got to think about the possibilities. This retail stuff is a drag but there's still a chance to do ARTGIRLZ: The Movie; ARTGIRLZ: the motivational speakers! ARTGIRLZ: on the Miracle-Gro label! ARTGIRLZ: the cable channel! THis is all to say this is a temporary shift, is all, and the next thing will appear. I have certainly enjoyed your ARTGIRLZ world while it lasted, and i'm sure there's more to come. Love & kisses, Mary

I've always believed that when something becomes draining instead of full of excitement, that it is time for a change. As you start a new chapter, I wish you luck and joy. One request, please keep your blog. You are inspiring and infectious in your creativity. Have fun discovering your new path!

I met you at my first Wee FOlk in 2000 and was inspired by your spirits. I am sorry you have to let go of something you put lots of hard work into. But, as someone said when a door closes a new one opens to something even better. Keep the art world posted.
